Financial Advisors Warm To Asset Managers Using Social Media, New Research Shows

If you've been holding off on delving into social media for fear of alienating financial advisors, American Century Investments' second annual “Financial Professionals Social Media Adoption Study” released today includes some data that should allay your concerns.

I've just published an AdvisorTweets post about the research so won't go into much detail here, but here's the gist. Most financial advisors (86%) have a business or personal social media account, according to the data, with 43% saying they participate regularly.

Brokerage, Investment Firms Among The Most Effective Online Display Advertisers

A recent report includes some long-sought benchmarking data on the effectiveness of online display advertising by brokerage and investment firms, and the good news is that the ads are among the most successful in the financial services vertical.

MediaMind, a provider of digital advertising solutions, is sharing its analysis of more than 28 billion ads created by the industry in “Financial Services: Making Smart Investments in Online Advertising,” a 25-page research report and mini-poster infographic. You can also watch a 1:19 video summarizing the results. I saw the video on the Investius blog, which keeps an eye on video adoption, in advertising and otherwise, within financial services.

How The Financial Services Digital Marketer Can Help Overcome The 'Trust Deficit'

Have you heard about the results of the 2011 Edelman Trust in U.S. Financial Services Survey in which Edelman found that investor trust in the U.S. financial services industry fell sharply last year? According to those surveyed, trust has fallen because “financial services companies have acted in a greedy manner" (57%) and “the industry itself has made the problems worse” (18%). Not good.
